Rules of Immersive Internet II- Landing Page
Where is the First Place we go on Search Engine ?
Without targeting specific webpage, the first place we land in internet is usually the search bar run by different search engine company.Half of our surfing experience is inside the engine generated pages until our interest is getting more specific. The search bar is an isolated space that we always comes back to.
There are two types of search engine.Index search engine such as Yahoo and wikipedia is an artificial catalogue that stores websites ac-cording to category and hierarchy.Full Text search engine works like a spider cross-ing though web pages in the internet , and store the information in a simple version in their data basis. Google is one of them.
A Giant room is designed to replace search bar as a individual feature that enhance both full text and index search. in the Bottom part i chose dome structure with grids organising index pages. As full text search only display a glance websites, there is no point to make it organised in rows but provide as much related choice as possible.
On the top part randomness is embedded in the design. After speaking a keyword, millions of related page like floods will flow down from the surface with different speed, for user to pick a starting point carefully .
Every page is just as big as the size of ones head rather than the body, for the sake of previewing more at a time.
